Ultramagic was one of the first companies to be approved by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) as a European pilot training organisation.<\/p>\n<p>We offer a course to obtain the European balloon licence, including theoretical knowledge and training flights. The course is aimed at obtaining the private licence for hot air balloons of 120,000 cubic feet. This is the first step to becoming a pilot; afterwards, if desired, commercial or night-flight extensions require building up flight experience and passing proficiency checks.<\/p>\n<p>The training flights include a total of 16 flight hours, comprising at least:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12 hours of dual flight with the instructor,<\/li>\n<li>10 inflations and 20 take-offs and landings, and<\/li>\n<li>1 supervised flight with an instructor lasting at least 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The course and the exam can be taken in English or Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to take the course in an intensive format, we recommend a one-month stay to allow time for all the training flights, the theoretical knowledge course and the exams. If possible, however, we advise a format of two two-week stays or, ideally, a non-intensive format, spreading the flights over a period of 6 months and acquiring the knowledge little by little.<\/p>\n<p>Before starting the course you need to obtain the Class 2 medical certificate in Spain. If you prefer, we can help you arrange the appointment with the aeronautical doctor.<\/p>\n<p>The training school is located at the Igualada aerodrome (\u00d2dena), less than an hour&#8217;s drive from Barcelona international airport. Here you will learn to fly in different areas and conditions. Throughout the year the weather conditions are good and varied, allowing you to gain the necessary experience and become a confident pilot, fully developing your skills.<\/p>\n<p>You will be trained by highly qualified professional instructors with extensive flight experience. These instructors have spent many years helping hundreds of pilots make their dream come true. You will also get to know the technical staff at the Ultramagic factory, many of whom are very experienced pilots.<\/p>\n<p>We can help you find accommodation at a reasonable price to make your training even more enjoyable, with local restaurants nearby offering good Catalan cuisine at a good price.<\/p>\n<p>At Ultramagic ATO we will help you throughout the process.
